Passwords: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Monday, May 31 at 10:15 AM - Room 1120, Desmarais Hall
An in-depth look at passwords: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. What constitutes a good password today may not make a good one tomorrow. We'll also look at the recent cracking of RockYou.com, to see what we can learn from it, from educating users, to protecting our systems, and even what to have with your lunch. Finally, we'll look at methods which "the bad guy(tm)" is using to try to crack passwords, and the way these methods are evolving over time.
