RealIT: Enterprise IT Management – Strategy and Implementation

A complete Enterprise IT Management strategy has two facets: IT Monitoring and IT Service Management. The first uses the FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, and Security) model to manage the IT infrastructure. The second looks to ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) as guidance for implementing the processes that help IT better align with business and to make it run as a business.

Many organizations deployed solutions in handling various IT management requirements as reactionary measures to the increasing challenges of their expanding IT infrastructure. It can be challenging to deploy and incorporate these solutions in a cohesive manner when organizations are still operating in silos. Those organizations with the foresight of having an Enterprise IT Management strategy and the right service provider partner enjoy better success in implementing the FCAPS and ITIL solutions.

In this session, we look into Carleton’s IT Management strategy, their priorities, selected solutions and partners, and most important of all, the values attained for their initial invested effort.
